One of the best weeks in the sporting calendar has arrived with The Masters kicking off at Augusta. The Masters challenges players in a different way to any other tournament, it is the event that all golfers want to win most and the event they put more pressure on themselves to perform. As a viewer its a symbol of the end of winter, a time to watch golf, play golf and perhaps most importantly….. Its also time to BET ON GOLF!! Lets get the ball rolling and outline the best offers for this years 2019 Masters Championship for our New Jersey Sports betting fans.

Who is Going to win…..
10 of the last 12 winners have been paying 28-1 or more which tells us Augusta is not a favorites course. 4 of the last 12 have gone to a playoff and both times players under $12 have won they have been -16 or better (Speith and Mickelson).
2018 – Patrick Reed -15 Pre-event price 70/1
2017 – Sergio Garcia -9 (playoff) Pre-event price 50/1
2016 – Danny Willett -5 Pre-event price 66/1
2015 – Jordan Spieth -18 Pre-event price 12/1
2014 – Bubba Watson -8 Pre-event price 28/1
2013 – Adam Scott -9 (playoff) Pre-event price 28/1
2012 – Bubba Watson -10 (playoff) Pre-event price 55/1
2011 – Charl Schwartzel -14 Pre-event price 90/1
2010 – Phil Mickelson -16 Pre-event price 10/1
2009 – Angel Cabrera -12 (playoff) Pre-event price 150/1
2008 – Trevor Immelman -8 Pre-event price 150/1
2007 – Zach Johnson +1 Pre-event price 200/1
The key to Augusta has always been the par 5’s. Patrick Reed played them in -13 to win last year and the player that can turn it on this year can put himself in the position to win it. Mickelson played them in -13 in 2006 despite finishing -6. The following year Zac Johnson played them -12 despite not finishing under par overall. This is where the tournament can be won. I am happy to risk Mcilroy and Dustin Johnson who are +800 and +1100. Betting on Tiger is not my go especially not at the odds he always starts.
Here at Sportsbook Select we are taking 5 players with Pointsbet USA
-
Justin Rose +1400 (We are outlaying $40 to return $560 on Rose but if you have the $50 free bet I would use it on Rose)
-
Brooks Koepka +2300 ( $35 to return $805)
-
Jason Day +2900 ($35 to return $1015)
-
Patrick Reed +5100 ($25 to return $1,275)
-
Billy Horschel +12600 ($25 to return $3,150)
Word from the market…
Pointsbet USA CEO Johnny Aitken told us that their customers have been attacking the market early and often “We’ve seen a wide range of bets on futures, with heavy hitters like Spieth, Fowler and Koepka all getting heavy action on the outright markets. Props are getting bet into heavily as well. Jason Day to be the leader after Day 1 is a popular prop and one our biggest liabilities at the moment.“Top former winner” is another market that’s generated interest. Schwartzel has been the most popular choice for that prop so far.We also have one bet on Sergio Garcia to make a hole-in-one at 100/1. We’ll be keeping a close eye on Sergio when he’s teeing off at 16 in particular.”
